Elisabetta Gnone

Fairy Oak, Elisabetta Gnone

Author’s Biography

Elisabetta Gnone is one of the most popular children’s authors.

A journalist with a passion for comics and children’s literature, in the nineties she was in charge of the girls’ and pre-school magazines published by the Walt Disney Company.

In 2000 she created for Disney the series that became a worldwide phenomenon W.I.T.C.H which sparked a robust publishing programme that included comics, magazines, novels, DVD’s and a television series.

In 2005 she started to write the massively popular Fairy Oak series, which won the hearts of millions of young readers in 23 countries, selling more than 4.5 million copies.

In recent years Elisabetta has devoted herself to her new series Olga made of paper, which introduces readers to a new world. Every book is a story about the importance of telling stories and, with delicate irony and affection, every story deals with the fragility, vulnerability and imperfections that scare us all and, essentially, make us human.

The new series, published in Italy by Adriano Salani Editore, reached the no. 1 position and dominated the Children’s Chart in the weeks that followed.
